Sue Baird, trained in London where she qualified in Hotel Management in 1988 before specializing in Training & Human Resources. Sue is a member of the CIPD, IITD and IHI and has over 20 years experience in the Training & HR profession. Sue is also a trained trainer, an assessor of training and has recently updated her skills by completing a Diploma in Employment Law in 2008 with the NCI and IBEC.

In 1995, Sue established SABOC to provide Training & HR specialist support for the Hospitality and Service sector. At that time, she was approached by two of Ireland’s most prestigious five star hotels, Ashford Castle, Co Mayo and Dromoland Castle, Co Clare to establish and manage their Training & HR departments. Not being able to resist such a wonderful opportunity, she accepted and this working relationship continues today. Currently, Sue also provides Training & HR support to other 4 and 5 star hotels on a regular basis including, The g Hotel, Galway, Hotel Meyrick, Galway and The d Hotel, Drogheda.

Over the last decade, Sue’s client emphasis has diversified to incorporate many other service businesses including airports, retail outlets, supermarkets, tourist attractions, restaurants and bars.

Sue is closely associated with the County Enterprise Boards in Mayo, Sligo and Donegal, carrying out training courses and providing HR mentoring to a diverse range of small to medium sized companies. Most recently she has become an approved Trainer with Skillnet programmes.

Sue has a passion for living which translates well into her working life. She has been fortunate enough to have travelled extensively; she is a qualified pilot and a competitive tennis player. She has an energetic zest for life and a natural interest in people which lends well to her chosen profession – that of a Trainer and HR Specialist.
